Music Timeline:
0 - 3:00 Minutes - Introduction to the Tree Community and forest. We see Mossie’s connection to the land and living creatures. Her movement is led by insatiable curiosity. Another music reference is “Runaway,” by Janet Jackson.
3:00 - Mossie shifts her attention to a tall tree and makes her way toward it.
3:15 - She climbs the tree, resisting the pull down from the grass that embodies the desire to stay connected. She looks out and sees the village.
3:30 - the pace changes as she climbs down the tree and starts running down the hill, through the forest.
5:10 - She moves closer to the mountain and makes it to the cliff, pausing to see the village again.
5:40 - Beat changes and the music gets jazzy/funky as she discovers the town.
7:10 - A storm picks up and it starts to rain.
7:40 - She looks at her reflection in a puddle and meets the boy.
7:50 - She pulls him into her dancing world. Then they take flight on his magic carpet.
9:00 - They land. Mossie begins to lose her energy. The boy tries to keep her going. She becomes kind of a zombie, and this lends itself to comedic situations. (The music gets a little to hard and metal here)
11:00 - She needs to make her way back to the Community of Trees. The boy is bewildered.
11:30 - She makes it back and her legs turn into roots of trees. She begins to charge as a meditative dance breaks out all around her.
13:15 - There is a sudden crash and the trees shake. Mossie looks up and its the boy. He crashed his magic carpet into the tree. He comes down to meet her. All is well and peaceful.
